My system is running freeBSD 4.11 (no, 5.x or 6.x are not options) and XFree86 4.4.0. I just tried to install subject port with the following results: (That was after having installed gphoto2 if that makes a difference -- perhaps gphoto2 installed it as a dependency but I should have thought that the ports make file would have checked to see if it was previously installed) Wednesday, 5 Jul, 2006 -- 17:41:47 MDT ===> Extracting for libgphoto2-2.1.5 => Checksum OK for libgphoto2-2.1.5.tar.gz. ===> Patching for libgphoto2-2.1.5 ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on executable: gmake - found ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/libtool15 - found ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on executable: pkg-config - found ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on shared library: usb-0.1.7 - found ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on shared library: exif.10 - found ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on shared library: gnugetopt.1 - found ===> libgphoto2-2.1.5 depends on shared library: intl - found ===> Configuring for libgphoto2-2.1.5 checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c -o root -g wheel checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether gmake sets $(MAKE)... yes checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking for gcc... cc checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out checking whether the C compiler works... yes checking whether we are cross compiling... no checking for suffix of executables... checking for suffix of object files... o checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes checking whether cc accepts -g... yes checking for cc option to accept ANSI C... none needed checking for style of include used by gmake...
