Using 2.1 from cdrom I have a USR 28.8 modem on a pentium 90 with 8MB. I also have a 3c509 ethernet board and I route IP to a mac. When I ftp large files from the mac through the freebsd machine I *tend* to get more hangups and line drops on the freebsd machine. When I ftp the same file from the freebsd machine I *tend* to get fewer drops. Is there a better ethernet card? I set up the 3c509 with the "server" option under the 3com config program. Anyone have more experience with this? Is memory an issue? Any general suggestions? thanks much \t -------- Terry Braun tab@talking.talking.com Talking Networks, Inc. 510-525-6696
