Yes I think it is well configured.
here is /etc/host.conf

# $FreeBSD: src/etc/host.conf,v 1.6 1999/08/27 23:23:41 peter Exp $
# First try the /etc/hosts file
hosts
# Now try the nameserver next.
bind

and about the nameserver it is automatically downloaded at PPP boot
(PPPoE) and the /etc/resolv.conf file is updated automatically.

If I nslookup the IP Addresses they are translated correctly...

I Can't understand why...
w displays only hostnames of IP Address I hold in /etc/hosts
