The following reply was made to PR ports/124083; it has been noted by GNATS. Unfortunately, I think I will have to drop maintainership. Work and family has been keeping me extremely busy and I have not had a chance to work on fixing the machine I use for development. I apologize for the inconvenience, but at this time I'm not able to dedicate the time needed for this port maintenance. > So, at least for now the port should be marked as BROKEN, anyway. (By the way: is there a recommendable > alternative to this VNC server in the ports collection?) It's possible 4.1.3 addresses some of the open bug reports both for building and/or runtime issues. It may be worth trying the 4.1.3-based source first to see if it builds properly. Unfortunately, I can only try to see if it builds on 7.1-PRERELEASE/amd64 and not other releases. I'll see if I can do that sometime this week and report here if I have success. As for a VNC alternative, there is NX, but last I checked it also is unavailable on amd64. If you have a real X display, you can use the net/x11vnc port which I've found works fine, but is slower than the VNC 4 based solution. Thanks, Josh
