I am not sure I understood things regarding "base is all about removing stuff
rather than adding". Do you mean removing perl, bind and others from base over
the course of last decade?

So, FreeBSD's old pitch of "Complete OS with all the familiar tools" as opposed
to Linux' "Kernel with bunch of stuff glued around it" is no longer actual? Too
bad, it was one of main reasons why I choose to start learning and using BSDs
instead of Linux.
