Subject:   ASUS P28S/AIC 7890 w/ 2 U2W drives and one SE Tape?

I have n ASUS P2B with the AIC 7890 chipset on it as well as two U2W
Seagate drives which work fine apparently if I disable the BIOS or set
aic7xxx=no_reset.  ( this is with 2.0.35 + pre5 patch )

However, also need to backup this machine and when adding a Seagate SE
tape drive, then I run into problems:

If I have BIOS enabled, and tell it to load aic7xxx=no_reset,verbose
and I get the following:

(scsi0:0:3:0) Aborting scb 29, flags 0x6
(scsi0:0:3:0) SCB found on waiting list and aborted.
(scsi0:0:3:0) Aborting scb 29
(scsi0:-1:-1:-1) 1 commands found and waiting for completion
scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 5, scsi0, channel 0,
id 3 lun 0, Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00

If I set BIOS disabled, it comes back and detects the two U2W drives but
goes no further.
