Your log says that you are trying to use /dev/psm0, not /dev/sysmouse. I can assure you that Xorg is working fine with moused, but only if Xorg tries to use that device. If moused is running, /dev/psm0 is owned by the moused process and can't be used by xorg. You have a configuration file. What if any configuration does it have for the mouse? Are you running hald?
