I also get a boot error if I do a halt. I assumed that this was normal and due to the kernel saying it was a halt and stopping the auto_action from happening. But it just complains and gives the SRM prompt and is still usable. I can type 'boot' and it goes on its merry way. I did notice when I flashed the SRM the first time that the debug monitor says there is a bad checksum for both the SRM and the ARC ROM. The ARC was fine before the SRM was added. I flashed it again with no change. This is a 'full flash' board where both can be present and I haven't touched the ARC image. Both seem to work though. I tried to install 4.0-release but I was doing an FTP install and it wouldn't fire up my DEC network card where 3.4 worked fine, hence I've got 3.4.
