Well, portupgrade is just a tool to automate it, but if it fails
means you have to check it manually. For example:

astro/xglobe doesn't exist anymore
devel/sdl10 doesn't exist anymore
games/blackjack doesn't exist anymore
converters/kdesupport11 doesn't exist anymore

For the rest, I would say "run it manually" and see what goes wrong.
