I did the following test sequence. camcontrol debug -Ic 0:6:0 mt fsf 1 manually change tape camcontrol debug -Ic 0:6:0 mt fsf 1 manually change tape camcontrol debug -Ic 0:6:0 mt fsf 1 The first tape used was the one from the aborted dump test. It gave very unusual results. The next 2 tests worked fine. Query: Could there be an assumption built in anywhere that a file ends with 2 EOFs? My understanding is that a proper multifile volume looks like: file 1 EOF file 2 EOF last file EOF EOF although headers and trailers (if any) could change that. In any case, mt fsf 1 should search for the one next EOF.
