I recently compiled a kernel with scsi emulation options, as stated in freebsd handbook, for using cdrecord. After I write/erase a CD-R/RW it happens very often that programs give me a bus error and core dumps. This happens even for "ls". If I do for 10 times a ls command, at least once it generates a bus error and core dumps. And it happens for other programs too, but only after I use cdrecord. This problem does not apear after I use "burncd". My computer is a Celeron 800mhz, 256sdram, msi mb with i815 chipset, wd 80gb p-ata hdd, and teac cd-rw 52x32x52x. If you need any other information for clearing this situation please let me know. Another thing would be about the ata-master: TIMEOUT SETFEATURE error. The problem still apears for me, even with 5.2.1 update, but only if I boot freebsd with teac's tray opened. Thank you. -- Claudiu Dragalina-Paraipan e-mail: clau@reversedhell.net
