BTX halted is a message coming from either boot2 or loader, not the
kernel.  Do you see the FreeBSD beastie logo/menu before you see this
message?

I know nothing about Xen (what it is, what purpose it serves, etc.).
If it's a "hardware emulator" of some sort, then I'd be wary of it.
Try things on real hardware if possible.
