Totally the essence of my post and complaint. FreeBSD is superb... if you
are comfortable in a text environment. Can anyone out there among you
imagine being shell-only from Feb 16th 2002 til mid Jul 2002?

Will FreeBSD's core of developers ever leap into integrating X *and* a
window manager (something similar to Windows)? I surely hope so.

That reminds me of what I left out of my original post - if you are someone
who is remotely comfortable with source code and compiling and typing make
this or make install or make upgrade or build world etc. then FreeBSD is
definitely 100% for you.

*grin* Just wanted to say it was good to hear this empathy.

I checked out www.sdbug.org but couldn't determine meeting dates/times. It
would definitely be a good idea to form our own group and meet regularly,
maybe more often than monthly. Could the list moderators post something on
Aug 1st showing the number of members? I would be curious to see a
database of our residential zip or area codes too :)
