use netgraph... The ng_tty node connects directly to a tty port that can be connected directly to a ng_ksocket node that can be bound to a udp port and address of another ksocket node somewhere else, which is attached to a ng-tty node there.. Anything coming in one port will be bound up in a udp packet and passed to the other machine where it will be unpacked.
