hi,

we are here experiencing some gettext-related issues with the new php4
port and a horde/imp 3.x install ...

german umlauts within strings that are produced through some kind of
gettext function are now suddenly encoded as \"u, \"o ... instead of
the usual &uuml;, &ouml; ...

maybe this is related to the fact, that the bind_textdomain_codeset()
function is undefined?! (even though gettext is installed and phpinfo()
reports it as an active module)

also note, that the php4 port prior to the split (4.3.8,1) did not
show this behaviour ..

any ideas?
