ok, here it goes :)

i removed files/configure.ans, attached files/configure.ans.skel
and modified your makefile. i'm attaching a shar of the whole thing
including your old Makefile and configure.ans properly renamed to 
Makefile.orig and configure.ans.orig. give it a try.
