Just one thing I'd like to point out - a path that goes through a public peering point does not indicate that the ISPs involved don't peer with each other; quite the contrary. All it means is that they don't have private circuits between them, which is a very different thing. Lightning is fairly small and much of its traffic defaults through AboveNet. I'm sure this situation will change, however, now that we're adding 200+Mbps of traffic to their network. What I meant in my original comment was that we're no longer constrained by our first hop circuit like we were at CRL and that performance for most people is MUCH better now - typically twice as fast or more. Of course things can always be better. -DG David Greenman Co-founder, The FreeBSD Project - http://www.freebsd.org Manufacturer of high-performance Internet servers - http://www.terasolutions.com Pave the road of life with opportunities.
