Yay! At long last, the problem's solved. I can sleep again.

John> sz/rz still wont work. BOO!

Waaaaaaa! :-(

    John> This is really perplexing.

You said it.

John> I type sz filename on the remote end and rz on my end
John> and end up with rz printing it's " this is meant to work
John> with comm programs not to be called by one " error message.

I didn't think rz could produce such a message, but I checked
"strings `which rz`" and sure enough, it's there.

As far as error messages go, I have no idea what that means.

John> Do any of u have anything to report about where u got
    John> or compiled your sz/rz?.

I patched, compiled, and installed by hand my copiees of sz/rz. I can
uuencode my binary of "rz" and email it to you, and you can use tip's
"~t" or cu's "~t" command to fetch the uuencoded text, and you can
uudecode it, install it, and then try tip's "~Crz".

I remember that one fateful day when Coach too me aside. I knew what
was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team,
aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the
team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and
your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then
either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try
to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was
saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of
this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he
can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on. -- Jack Handey
