Recently I tried to resize the blocks on a 9G IBM drive that was StorageTek/Clariion OEM. No such luck. It was stuck at 520. Was using SGI's fx utility. The drive uses special firmware vs. over the counter units. Irix was happy to use the disk at 520 bytes/block. Problem was the drive didn't have a bad block list. And wouldn't let me manually add a bad block. But when put back into the RAID rack it came from it worked (still works a year later) perfectly. -- David Kelly N4HHE, dkelly@nospam.hiwaay.net ===================================================================== The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system.
