With this setup LyX runs fine for some time (variable) then in reply to a GUI interaction (moving main window, popping the styles list) it crashes the system. I don't know exactly what's appening because there is a hard reset: it looks like a kernel panic. Have you ever heard of similar reactions on other systems. I hope this will help you harden LyX that seems very interesting from the little the crashs allowed me to see.
