I've heard various rumors of an "MAPlay 1.2+" that supports Layer III MPEG 
audio.  However, I've never been able to find it (except for a binary-only 
version for Windows that didn't support Layer III anyway), and my mail to 
the author bounced.  Where can I find this mythical beast?  Any help would 
be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
