Considering the amount of RAM in the box, AMD64 would prob be best for your needs. If you need 32-bit software or features go with i386 instead but you wont have access to all the RAM ia64 is for Itanium-based systems only > Date: Mon, 25 Aug 2008 23:39:07 +0200 > From: maanjee@gmail.com > To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org; maanjee@gmail.com > CC: > Subject: For this hardware amd64, ia64 or i386 to install? > > Hi guys > > For following hardware, I am wonderting that which Freebsd amd64, ia64 or > i386 to install? > > Hardware: > Dell PowerEdge 2950 III having 2 x CPU 3,0 GHz Intel Xeon L5450 Quad-Core > 2x6MB cache WITH 16 GB RAM. > Tools: > 1.
