Hello everybody,

I now got ISDN to run with NetBSD 1.6 on my machine. =) Hooray!

I had to set up the nameserver manually, which didn't come to my mind at
first (With SuSE, I think I receive a list of nameservers at dial-in and
ipppd updates /etc/resolv.conf automatically. I did not have to set up any
nameservers ever...), but now it works basically fine, I mean, dial-up works,
the connection works, too. There is one problem, however, the connection does
not seem to close automatically.
The entries in /etc/isdn/isdnd.rc look like this:
idletime-outgoing = 58
earlyhangup             = 5

- From what I understand, this makes isdnd hangup after a) 58 seconds of
inactivity or b) 5 seconds before the next charging unit begins.

Does earlyhangup take care of the connection's activity? (I do think so...)
I've waited longer than 60 seconds without any activity, still the interface
seemingly did not hang up (after hangup, "ifconfig ippp0" should tell me
something like "0.0.0.0 -> 0.0.0.1", right? Before I dial in, I get this). Or
did it maybe hang up silently? If ifconfig doesn't tell me, I'd have to check
syslog, right?

kind regards and thanks in advance,

Benjamin Walkenhorst
