USB scanning works. However when i start multiple sessions of Octave, a MatLab clone, and have it do huge computations it crashes my Kde 3.1.3 desktop because the computer has run our of swap space. This did not happen in 4.8. If the machine ran out of swap space in 4.8, it just killed the offending application.
