It is true only with "algorithm=0". It was exactly "algorithm=1", why I prefered mirror over other packages such as spegla or omi. I have never seen running mirror using over 10 MB of memoryr. It was great thing on machine with 32 MB of RAM ;-) With "algorithm=1", mirror can traverse subdirectories one by one without the need to do a full tree listing before file updating. Furthermore, full tree listing was very slow and in many cases, changes during listing blocked mirror from proper operation and mirroring was unsuccessful.
