Not sure if this has been suggested or ruled out as yet but if you have usb enabled, you don't need to be using it, try the following see if it helps? sysctl hw.usb.no_shutdown_wait=1 If it does 1. Temporary fix is to pop that in /etc/sysctl.conf 2. Worth investigating which USB component isn't dropping references correctly.
