BTW: since I'm ruinning -current I don't get silo overflows any more.
(I have a ASUS P55 board with the 16550 UARTS, or the compatible chip,
to be more precise). The 1496EG+ modem is driven via hardware handshaking
at 57600 Baud.

So I'm really satisfied with current ;-)
