:I've connected the laptop to the both of the server's fxps, in the first :case using the combinations of the upstairs and downstairs hub, and in :the later case via the hub on the router on the other side. I get :exactly the same behaviour. This to me says that it's not the hubs. :To test it further I'll build an ethernet crosser cable and plug the :laptop directly into the server.
