Perhaps back-porting the Atheros driver to 4.9 isn't that hard.  The
FreeBSD organization itself doesn't consider 5.x suitable for
production.  We're running 4.9-RELEASE-p1 on our production boxes,
though we've got 5.1 on a couple desktops and development machines.
