If you enable it, you will quickly learn what I did in that they "forgot" a few files in the dist to make GNOME support actually compile. Believe me, I did try to enable GNOME support. If you want AbiWord2 to be picked up by GNOME, try creating a symlink of AbiWord-2.0 to AbiWord.
