I'm not sure if you sent your resolution to the list, Mike, but for the purposes of the archive... You cannot use sawfish with libgmp4. If you have the libgmp4 port installed either on -STABLE or -CURRENT, remove it, then rebuild librep, rep-gtk[2], and sawfish[2]. That will get the proper dependency on libgmp3.
