I ask because so many people have bought IDE CD-ROM drives (including myself and one friend who wants to install FreeBSD but wait for the CD-ROM release of 2.1.0 :-) and the vast majority of drives will probably work with the current ATAPI drivers. Support for the largest possible range of CD-ROM drives is also important in order to actually INSTALL FreeBSD when it's distributed on CD-ROM without copying it to the hard drive, first.
