OK I just aquired a 164lx setup and it previously had windows NT so it was running alphabios. Well, I found out what I have to do is get SRM console on, so I read instructions and download the firmware program, renaming it to fwupdate.exe I boot the system and go through the update. The system appears to reboot then goes to a blue screen where it basically tells me i'm missing nt_fw. I hear I'm supposed to have some file like srm_fw.sys, which I cannot find anywhere. OK, try two. I get this lx164srm.rom file which is ever so praised, stick it on a formatted floppy and do the upgrade procedure. The Alphabios tells me there is no update found on that floppy. So, now I'm stuck. I really want to know how to get the SRM console on my Alpha, but nothing works.
