Excuse me, but subject of my letter not bug in your software. I have great news: I've designed interest algorithm, which can process byte strings as wide words, and I've rewritten some "libc" str*() functions for test my algorithm. I've tested my fast function on SUN/SOLARIS platform, where I've got increase of performance to 1.5-10 times. My friend tester these functions on ALPHA, HP-UX, SGI and Intel/BSD platforms. On FreeBSD I also have good results, where my fast functions spent less time, than standard. These basic functions using very wide and often, and when/if SUNW will include it in your system libraries, it will increase general performace of it's system. If anybody will interest to my function/algorithmes, I'll continue conversation, and give sources for using in FreeBSD OS. But I want restrict using my functions only in FreeWare OS's - I don't want give them for commercial OS's, like Solaris, HP-Ux, etc. What do I'll must do for make this restriction? -- Oleg I.
