I'd recommend the HP OmniBook 900b The things I like about it are: 1. At 4 pounds it is reasonably light. 2. ATI Mobility video, this has enough memory to drive an external monitor at a reasonably high resolution. It's also supported under XFree86 3.3.6 and 4.0. 3. Built in serial port. I dislike needing an external 'dongle' to use the serial port. Since I use this laptop for interfacing to machine consoles on a frequent basis, this is important. 4. The built in screen is 13.3 inches, which is large enough for me and pretty good for a 4 pound notebook. Just my $0.02 worth. Regards, H.
