I installed the NNTP package from freebsd and it installed ok or seemed to and so did cnews.. I then changed the inetd.conf file to show nntp with an owner of news .. Now when a user connects to the news server they get an error that somthing went wrong on the server and on the server a message pops up that says June 3 1997 news nntpd[147]:get_socket:bind:permission denied this is all that happens.. Now i cannot find any docs on my system for anything other than NNTPD and it is fairly vauge and only talks of one config file nntp_access which i set up and still received the above error message... Can any one help with this probelm.. Thanks alot for any and all help.... Rob HEnry Eclectic Data PS if you could reply to this address as I have no news group access yet.. :)
