I'm probably wasting time with this as it is so irregular and unpredictable. But maybe others have seen something that might help track this down. Every once in a while, usually at an interval of several days, the Orinoco Gold cards on my ThinkPad 600E will simply vanish! Here is what I see in the log: /kernel: wi0: timeout in wi_seek to fc80/0; last status ffff /kernel: wi0: timeout in wi_seek to fc80/0; last status ffff /kernel: wi0: detached /kernel: pccard: card removed, slot 1 dhclient: receive_packet failed on wi0: Device not configured pccardd[107]: wi0: Lucent Technologies (WaveLAN/IEEE) removed. dhclient: receive_packet failed on wi0: Device not configured last message repeated 42 times ntpd[168]: sendto(198.128.1.13): No route to host [I remove and insert the card and things return to normal] /kernel: pccard: card inserted, slot 1 I have seen these events several times with nothing to correlate them. No sysctl magic. Just running "out of the box". Here is my dmesg: Copyright (c) 1992-2001 The FreeBSD Project.
