As far as I can tell, this behaviour is not deterministic, sometimes the parallel mounting succeeds and sometimes it doesn't. Here are a couple of suggestions: Can we make parallel mounting optional for us that don't need it or want it? Or, can parallel mounting be changed so that filesystems off the root pool = is completely mounted before all other pools?
