It seems that the 'freshclam' util doesn't support mirror sites First, use the ports tree to update your clamav. The packages look to be out of date. Sure it does mirrors. See the /usr/local/share/clamav directory... My only gripe with clamav is that there is a test in it for "iframe exploits" which I believe is too liberal. it frequently on triggers my nightly maillog scan summary message which identify messages already blocked for iframe exploits... so i had to whitelist root@ in my amavisd config to allow viruses thru. Anyhow it has been updating for me without fail for quite some time.
