So far as I know, the only ADSL modem supported by FreeBSD is the 
Alcatel Speedtouch USB. I don't think that the PCI version is 
supported, although I would happily be proved wrong about that.

or you can use /usr/ports/net/speedtouch although last time I used the 
version in the ports collection it was out of date and unstable - and 
yes I do synchronize my ports tree regularly.
