My initial plan was to commit Thunderbird 3.1 (which should be released tomorrow) in mail/thunderbird because most of the 3.0 plugins do not work with 3.1 yet. But at the moment there are still some ports depending on Thunderbird 2 so I can't do it that way. In the long run I'd like to keep it with Thunderbird like with Firefox so that mail/thunderbird contains the most recent version and older but still supported versions are in a directory like mail/thunderbird3. Take a look at the UPDATING entry from 20100207 which gives a short overview of the current Firefox structure. Beat
