I'm a rookie when it comes to this UNIX stuff, and hope this doesn't seem TOO silly. My question concerns installing FreeBSD 2.1 from the Walnut Creek CDROM. My CD-ROM is a MITSUMI FX400 (unsupported type ??), so I tried the ATAPIFLP.BAT batch file to create a boot floppy. Both MCD0 and MCD1 "timeout getting status", and are subsequently NOT FOUND. I tried disabling drivers and reassigning IRQ's at boot (-c), with no results. So is CD-ROM as a "media type" out of the question, or is there a some other solution? After looking through "questions@FreeBSD.org", I noticed many questions regarding the Mitsumi FX400 (dating back to March 1995), yet no real "answers". Thanks in advance for any help....(think Rookie...)
