The last maybe half dozen times that wifi broke for me, dating back a decade, every single one of them has been failure to update /etc/rc files properly and/or failure to update both userland and kernel and/or corrupting wpa_supplicant.conf... Given the errors reported, I'd make sure there's a complete update of /etc files before looking elsewhere.
