I put it in debug mode for a subsequent install attempt -- here's what it said: Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0xeffac880 fault code = supervisor read, page not present code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, resume, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume IOPL = 0 current process = 60(ifconfig) interrupt mask = net tty I suppose that this makes it an ifconfig error, but I didn;t see anything in the archives refering to special ifconfig flags for the Intel EtherExpress 16 card (as opposed to the link 0 info that's there for the 3Com 3C509 cards). Any ideas? -Amir /\ Set the controls for the heart of the sun. -Pink Floyd ______/ \ ___________ __ __ _ _ _ _ . . . amir@neuron.net \ / \/ For PGP 2.6 key send mail with subject: SEND PGPKEY
