Sender: questions-owner@FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hello everyone, I've got one of these st32550n 7200rpm 2.1G drives, and it won't go faster than about 3.3MB/s on block writes measured by bonnie. Block reads go about 6MB/s. My 5400rpm drives write faster, and read about 4MB/s. This is on an ASUS P54TP4, not running X, freshly newfs'd, tunefs'd -m 8 -a 8 -d 0... verified in the dumpfs output, ncr, 32MB, 032195 system. Is this drive a turkey? Anybody got better results from this drive? What are you running? (I hope I botched something 8-0) Thanks, Russell
