--- Comment #2 from joecarmstrong+fbsd@gmail.com ---
I have exactly the same issue, and have made no progress.

Laptop:
Chromebook Pixel with Developer mode and SeaBIOS enabled as per:
http://vger.kernel.org/~davem/chromebook_pixel_linux.txt
32GB SSD
Intel CORE i5 Ivy Bridge with Panther Point PCH

Flash Drives tried:
Strontium 16GB
Apacer 4GB

Formatting USB Drives with Disk Utility on OSX as Fat32, tried MBR and GUID.
Also tried formatting with Windows.
Using DD on OSX to write to the bootable USBs:
dd if=FreeBSD-10.1-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img of=/dev/disk2 bs=64k conv=sync

Tried:
FreeBSD-10.1-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img
FreeBSD-10.1-RELEASE-amd64-uefi-memstick.img

Noticed the comment RE mem=XX, which is mentioned at step 7) of the above link.
Have not figured out how to set this kernel parameter on FreeBSD.

--------------- Output of the screen --------------------
