I myself have a patched version of virtual_oss on Github[1] that fixes a few bugs with modern Bluetooth devices not connecting and also adds support for the aptX codecs. Been using this for a while now and it seems to work just fine. There's a few patches in the base system needed, these are rotting away somewhere in Phabricator.
