As long as your modem port is detected at boot time and the modem understands the usual AT command set it will work. To get the absolute best performance you might need to play with the init string that ppp (or whatever) feeds to the modem. The .ini files for your Win95 drivers probably have a suitable string hidden in them somewhere, otherwise try your modem manual or one of the sites on the net that maintain databases of init strings.
