I have wlan card WG311T from Netgear installed on freeBSD 5.4
# ifconfig

status: no carrier

wepmode MIXED weptxkey 1
wepkey 1:104-bit
but it doesn't work.
I think WEP is not active !
in /etc/rc.conf I have:
ifconfig_ath0="inet 192.168.2.20 netmask 255.255.255.0 ssid myssid wepmode on wepkey 0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
it seems I'm missing wlan_wep module
