I thought they were installed by default, but in any case you should find libstdc++_p.a under /usr/obj after doing this: % cd /usr/src/gnu/lib/libstdc++/ % make obj && make depend && make Make sure you don't have anything like NO_PROFILE, NOPROFILE or WITHOUT_PROFILE defined in /etc/make.conf.
